We offer a package for upper eyelid surgery, but can also arrange for lower eyelid correction. Upper eyelid surgery is performed on an outpatient basis and can be performed at any time of the year.

 

Eyelid surgery involves removing excess, sagging skin and reducing fat pads. As we age, the skin in the eyelid area naturally sags. In the upper eyelids, this sagging skin can even limit the field of vision.

 

The procedure is performed on an outpatient basis, no hospitalization is required.

The course of surgery:

• Local anaesthesia is used. 

• The skin of the upper eyelids is numbed with an anaesthetic that is injected under the skin. 

• Excess skin is removed and the fat pads are removed. The skin is sutured with a thin subcutaneous suture

• After upper eyelid surgery, the surgical wound is taped over with a sterile plaster. The patch is not soaked and is left on for one week. 

• Approximately one week after surgery, the eyelid wound is healed and the stitches can be removed. You can go to the doctor with the stitches, or you can remove them yourself.

• Swelling and bruising may persist for another 10 days. During this time, the patient should observe a resting regimen and avoid physical exertion. Office work is possible after 3-4 days.
